Off I-5, highway 299 runs towards the Northern California coast and Mussel Rocks showcase some of the most beautiful ocean compositions available at Patrick's Point State Park. This image was captured with a 10-stop neutral density filter, a few grads, and a 4 minute exposure time to make the water turn to mist. The rock in the foreground, on which I was set-up was about 10 feet out of the water, though still a wet place to be... yet I was able to avoid any large waves until I was mostly packed up and headed back to camp, scrambling over the seaside rocks. This image is presented with minimal post-processing (just contrast and sharpness changes).
